When can I expect to see results from my skincare products?
Within a few weeks of regularly using SkinStore products, your skin should begin to appear smoother and healthier. Fine lines seem to fade, and complexion and texture appear more even. Allow an average of 2 to 6 weeks for visible results, depending on the condition of the skin prior to using SkinStore products.
When should Skin Store products be used?
Most Skin Store products should be used twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening, unless otherwise directed by your physician.
Can I use Skin Store products in conjunction with my other moisturizers or cleansers?
Yes. Skin Store products can be used with other skin care products that have been recommended by your physician. Makeup can also be applied while using Skin Store products. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, make sure that all supplemental facial products being used are non-comedogenic and non-irritating.
Should I avoid sun exposure while using Glycolic Acid products?
Yes. Although clinical testing reveals no increased sensitivity to the sun, you should always wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen to prevent photodamage. Unprotected sun exposure is the leading cause of premature aging.
What should I expect to feel when I first apply a glycolic product?
Glycolic Acid products, such as M.D. Forte, may cause mild tingling when first applied. This sensation should disappear within 1 to 2 minutes, depending on skin sensitivity. You may want to wait 15 minutes after cleansing prior to applying your leave-on Glycolic Acid based product to reduce stinging.
Are there cases in which SkinStore products should not be used?
Although Skin Store product lines are time tested, dermatologist recommended and safe, they should only be used as directed on the product label. Also, in very rare circumstances, the products may be too irritating to your skin. You should expect mild stinging with the application of some of our products, that is common. However, if you notice persistent burning, severe itching, or signs of blistering, or prolonged severe redness, then unfortunately your skin may be too senstive for these products and they should be immediately discontinued. These symptoms are very uncommon, but if they do occur and persist, we would recommend follow up with your physician.
What should I expect within the first few days of using glycolic products?
As the dead-cell layer sloughs off, skin may appear slightly drier than normal. Once the transition is made and new, smoother-looking skin is exposed, the complexion will appear more youthful and vibrant.
Note: Depending on the condition of the skin and the rate of exfoliation, skin may appear more or less dry.
