An affiliate program is a way for you to: make your site more valuable to the people who visit, by bringing them goods and services that are likely to interest them. Earn revenue from your site through partnerships with merchants who compensate you for the traffic, leads, and sales you send them.

How to become an affiliate :: If you have a website, engage in email marketing, or use browser extensions, you can become an affiliate. If you are interested in earning revenue from the traffic that comes to your site, and enhancing your site, you can join one or more merchant programs.
An affiliate partners with an online merchant (that is, a website that sells goods or services). When you join their program, you can put their links on your site.
These links come in the form of banners, text, and a number of other, more sophisticated types of links. The HTML code for these links is supplied to you by online merchants through LinkShare. You can put these links anywhere you want on your site. LinkShare can help you figure out how to place your links so that they are most effective.

How affiliate program works :: A visitor comes to your site. If the visitor clicks on one of the links you have put up, that visitor goes to the merchant's site. If that visitor buys something on the merchant's site, you get a commission.
In some cases, affiliates are compensated even if the visitor doesn't buy anything, just for having driven traffic to the merchant's site. The affiliate's reward varies from merchant to merchant and program to program, depending on the terms of the merchant's offer.

You can join as many programs as you want. There is no limit to the number of programs that LinkShare affiliates can join. However, we recommend that you only select those programs that best suit your audience.

LinkShare is the most convenient, straightforward, and reliable affiliate program for affiliates. LinkShare hosts The LinkShare Network® where affiliates can use one username and password to quickly and easily find programs they want to join from among the 600 merchants who have affiliate programs through LinkShare. LinkShare is a trusted third party offering the most accurate tracking in the industry.

Once you join LinkShare, we will give you a username and password to log in. Then you can select from the categories listed on the main page or in the "Join" section of the interface to find the types of programs that interest you.

LinkShare hosts a password-protected website that offers affiliates a choice of hundreds of merchant programs. On the site, affiliates can join new programs, get links to put on their sites, and then generate reports about how their links are performing and how much they have earned.

Whenever a visitor from an affiliate's site clicks on a link and goes to a merchant's site, Link Share keeps track of all of the transactions that the visitor makes on that merchant's site.

LinkShare provides affiliates with customer service, notifies affiliates about new programs and new opportunities, and offers resources for affiliates to learn about how to get the most out of their programs.

Commission from a merchant :: It varies from merchant to merchant. When you join LinkShare, you are given the details about compensation offered by each merchant.

You can see a daily update of how much you are owed by the merchant. Should you require more detailed information, LinkShare's Payment Report lets affiliates review commission information by individual merchant, and the Merchant Payment History Report shows a merchant's payment history for the last six months.

You can get the HTML code for your links right from the affiliate interface. All you have to do is copy the code from LinkShare and paste it into your own HTML pages.

"Premium Partner" :: Link Share talked to hundreds of our top affiliates to find out the characteristics of their best merchant partners. In addition, we asked our Affiliate Advisory Board to help distill that information into specific criteria for identifying the merchants that affiliates most prefer to work with. Premium Partners are merchants who:
Pay affiliates on a monthly basis.
Pay affiliates based on a maximum $25 threshold.
Offer seven or more return days in their baseline offers (does not apply to merchants with pay per click programs).
Supply complete and current contact information in their profiles.
Use LinkShare's check-disbursement service (which allows Link Share to publish detailed payment status information in their Payment Reports in the interface, and provides a trackable process for consistent, timely commission payments).
Ensure prompt authorization of affiliate payments so affiliates are paid at the end of the following month.
Are active and in good standing.

What is a sub-affiliate? A sub-affiliate is an affiliate business or website that operates as a type of subsidiary of a larger organization. Using LinkShare SignatureSM Technology, larger affiliate's can create links for and track the activity of sub-affiliate sites through a single LinkShare account interface.
