Basics.
Commission Junction (CJ) is an intermediary which links publishers with advertisers. Publishers are people who have Web sites and who want to earn commissions by placing advertisers links on those Web sites and driving traffic to the advertisers sites.

We have over 1200 advertisers in the Commission Junction Network. Each advertiser has a different program and sets their own commission rates for the kind of traffic they wish to recieve.

The Commission Junction service simplifies the relationships by tracking all the commissions and providing a single centralized point of contact. We make it easy for publishers to find and do business with the advertisers whose programs match the traffic that comes to their Web sites.

Account Balance.
Every month there will (probably) be some money left in the balance from recently-earned commissions that have not yet been validated. The balance is up-to-date but the payouts are for the previous month's validated transactions, hence the seeming discrepancy.

Commission Junction issues checks for previous month's sales on the 20th of the month when publisher account exceeds Commission Junction's Minimum Balance Amount.

We combine commission payments from all advertiser partners that each publisher is working with. There is a $25.00 minimum withdrawal. (Publishers that request payment in a currency other than US dollars must reach a minimum equivalent to $50 US dollars.) If a publisher's account balance is less than $25.00 at the end of the month, we roll over the commissions into the following month.

Transaction Status.
If you are wondering when a particular transaction will be paid, look closely at the Status field on the transaction report.

Advertisers have until the 10th of the month following the month that a publisher earned a commission to review and possibly reverse any transaction. A feature on the transaction report shows the status of that review.

New means that the advertiser has not looked at it yet. Accepted means that the advertiser have reviewed and accepted the Transaction before the deadline of the 10th. (If the advertiser do nothing, on the 10th of the following month the transaction will automatically be accepted.) Extended means that the advertiser has requested another 30 days in which to make a decision, advertisers may do this once for each transaction.

Unlocked means that the advertiser still has an opportunity to reverse the transaction, if for example the lead is not a real address, or the item purchased was returned. Locked means that it is after the 10th of the month following the transaction and the advertiser has no more opportunity to review it.

New publisher First Check.
Please note that new publishers go through a check approval process. Check processing for new publishers takes a little longer than checks for publishers that have an established account with Commission Junction. The approval process for new publisher checks delays the distribution. Once the new publisher has completed three pay cycles and shows a history of good activity with no disputes from advertisers, the publishers will receive checks in a more timely manner.

Direct Deposit.
A publisher may choose to receive commission payment through a check in the mail or through Direct Deposit to a designated bank account. There is no charge for this service.
